Dr. Ibrahim Jaffe is a physician, Sufi Master Healer, and Spiritual Guide pioneering Medical Spiritual Healing (MSH) – the integration of western medicine and spiritual practice to heal disease and improve health and wellbeing. After studying and witnessing healing from many spiritual healing traditions, Dr. Jaffe discovered the spiritual healing of the Sufis.

He found that the Sufi healing led to the deepest inner transformation of the heart and soul and addressed the most subtle and hidden forms of disease. For this reason, he chose to apprentice for 20 years with one of the leading Sufi Masters and Healers of the century, Sidi Muhammad Al-Jamal, Guide of the Shadhiliyya Sufi Way. Through his apprenticeship, Dr. Jaffe’s own illnesses were healed. As he mastered the deep teachings of his Guide, Dr. Jaffe was recognized by Sidi as a Sufi Murshid, or Guide, and a Master Sufi Spiritual Healer. He was given permission to teach spiritual healing and Sufism worldwide.

Hadrat Sam Jaffe was raised in a Sufi zawiyya as a child. At the age of 17 he moved to Morocco to begin studying Islam and Arabic. He lived in Fez, Morocco for about 3.5 years. After he completed his bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies at the Markfield Institute in England, and completed his Master’s in Islamic Studies at the University of Chicago. There he specialized in medieval Andalusian (Spanish) Islamic mystical thought. Currently, he lives in Istanbul, Turkey where he continues his studies in religions, philosophies, and mysticism.

 He and a colleague from Harvard have also compiled a guidebook to the graves of the saints of our lineage that will soon be published.

Peter Dziedzic has spent the past decade living with and learning from Sufi communities around the world, especially in Morocco, Turkey, India, and Indonesia. Peter believes that Sufi traditions can offer transformative wisdom and insights into the human experience and he is excited to share these insights on this tour.

Peter is currently finishing his PhD in Islamic Studies at Harvard University, where he specializes in Sufi literature and Islamic perspectives on the environment. Peter is also a professor at DePaul University in Chicago, where he teaches classes on Persian Sufi poetry, Islam and the environment, and Islamic-Buddhist traditions in dialogue.
